Terms of Service

These are plain-English draft terms for the family-and-friends pilot. We'll replace them with a counsel-reviewed version before CogniKiddo opens to the public. During the pilot, access is at our discretion and may be paused or revoked at any time.

1. Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using CogniKiddo (the "Service") you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. Who can use CogniKiddo

Only a parent or legal guardian (18+) may create an account.
By adding a child, you confirm you are that child's parent or guardian and consent to the data practices in our Privacy Policy.
The Service is intended for children aged 6–10, used under your supervision.

3. Your account

Keep your login credentials secure; you're responsible for activity under your account.
One account is for one family. Don't share credentials with people outside your household.
Tell us promptly at support@cognikiddo.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Bypass or tamper with the safety filter, daily time limits, or other child-protection mechanisms.
Attempt to access other families' data, reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the Service.
Use the Service for anything unlawful, abusive, or harmful.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules or that misuse the Service.

5. The Service & changes

CogniKiddo is provided "as is" during the pilot. We're actively developing it and may add, change, pause, or remove features with reasonable notice. We may also limit or end the pilot at any time.

6. AI-generated content

CogniKiddo uses AI to generate tutor responses and feedback. While we screen every exchange for safety, AI can occasionally be inaccurate or unexpected. Treat it as a learning aid, supervise young children, and tell us about anything concerning via safety@cognikiddo.com.

7. Not a substitute for school

CogniKiddo is a learning supplement, not a replacement for a teacher, school, or professional advice. We don't guarantee specific learning outcomes.

8. Pricing

The family-and-friends pilot is free. Paid plans (planned: a Family plan around ₹399/month for up to 4 children with unlimited sessions and the full parent dashboard) are expected later this year. Pilot families will get a free month when paid plans launch. Any pricing shown is indicative and may change before launch.

9. Intellectual property

CogniKiddo, its content, brand, and software are owned by us and protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your family. You retain ownership of the data you and your child provide; you grant us the limited licence needed to operate the Service for you (see Privacy Policy).

10. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the prior 12 months (during the free pilot, this is zero).

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (see Privacy Policy §9). We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms or to protect users or the Service.

12. Changes to these terms

We'll update the "last updated" date above when these change and notify account holders by email for material changes. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bengaluru, Karnataka.
